LEDs themselves are very durable & have a 100,000 hour lifetime, add to this the high impact polycarbonate tube they are housed in and the LED Tubes are virtually indestructable - there is no glass to break! Polycarbonate is the same material that riot shields are made of and can flex with the vehicle's chassis when driving over rough roads.
